In the Presence of Absence (في حضرة الغياب), est le dernier livre écrit par le poète Palestinien Mahmoud Darwish. Conscient que cette oeuvre serait sa dernière, il façonne, au point culminant de sa créativité, ce dernier chef-d’oeuvre puissant- chatoyant à la manière des derniers rayons de soleil précédent une nuit sans fin. En confrontation avec la vie et la mort, ce livre est un retour sur la vie de l’auteur qui pose un dernier regard sur son passé à travers des souvenirs aussi douloureux que délicats. An Echo Of An Echo sont cinq mots extraits d’un paragraphe dans lequel il se souvient d’une nuit dans un camps de réfugié à Beirut.

This compilation brings together sound pièces composed by thirteen artists from across the world. Its title An Echo Of An Echo comes from a text written by Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish in his last book, In the Presence of Absence, which was sent to all participating artists who were invited to compose a sonic piece in response.

In the Presence of Absence is the last book written by Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish. Aware of the fact that this work was going to be his last, he reached the apex of his creativity and shaped this striking final masterpiece. A powerful work shimmering like the last rays of sun before an endless night.
Facing both life and death, this book is a long and slow final look at his life in which he explores his past, voguing through both painful and delicate memories. An Echo Of An Echo are five words extracted from a paragraph where he recalls a night in a Beirut refugee camp.
